Halal Bi Halal IAIN Palu Strengthens Commitment to Improve Quality

IAIN Palu Chancellor, Prof. Dr. H. Sagaf S Pettalongi M.Pd delivered a speech on halal bi halal at IAIN Palu on Thursday

Halal bi halal of Palu State Islamic Institute (IAIN), Central Sulawesi, is a momentum to build friendship among the academic community components, to strengthen the commitment to develop the university, after the earthquake and tsunami disaster.

"This Halal bi halal is to unite our commitment to develop IAIN Palu," said the IAIN Palu Rector, Prof. Sagaf S Pettalongi M.Pd, at IAIN Palu on Thursday. IAIN Palu held halal bi halal involving all components of the academic community including campus officials, educators and education staff.

Prof. Sagaf Pettalongi said that halal bi halal is a tradition to improve the quality of relations between people, especially in the environment of IAIN Palu.

Halal bi halal is a tradition after Eid al-Fitr which only exists in Indonesia. This good tradition was first conceived by KH. Abdul Wahab Chasbullah. The NU Grand Leader was invited by the First President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno to the Palace to discuss the existence of a dispute between the political elites.

So KH Abdul Wahab Chasbullah offered a solution to President Soekarno by holding halal bi halal. So, halal bi halal was first held at the State Palace at the moment of Eid al-Fitr.
